A Message from the CEO

In establishing the Nemours Wildlife Foundation in 1995, Eugene duPont, III and his family made an invaluable contribution to wildlife conservation which will return dividends for many generations. Eugene, his wife Laura, daughter Gigi and son-in-law Mike McShane have been active conservationists and have established a legacy upon which the Foundation expects to build over many years to come. We owe these visionary individuals much gratitude for their foresight and wisdom.

It has been my great privilege to be named the first Director, and now the CEO of the Nemours Wildlife Foundation. Working with the Foundation’s enthusiastic and committed board is one of the aspects of my position I have enjoyed for more than a decade. Our vision for the Nemours Wildlife Foundation is to continue the legacy of Eugene duPont, III and his family through excellence in land stewardship, education and science. We particularly want to provide a knowledge base for the many private landowners in our region who have strong land ethics and want to be the best stewards possible of natural resources in the South Carolina Lowcountry and throughout the Southeast.

Happily, there are many organizations who share our commitment and are working together. In light of the complex challenges facing wildlife and habitat conservation, collaborations may be the only way to solve many of these complex issues, and we are pleased to be a leader in developing these partnerships on behalf of our treasured natural resources.

We want to hear from you! If you or an organization to which you belong would like to join us in our important work, please contact us. Your support is vital to our continued success.
