Established in 1995 by Eugene duPont, III and his family, the Nemours Wildlife Foundation encompasses nearly 10,000 acres of South Carolina’s iconic ACE Basin—a rich and biodiverse landscape The Nature Conservancy has described as one of the “Last Great Places on Earth.”
The “living laboratory” that is Nemours offers unparalleled and nearly unlimited conservation research, nature education, and land stewardship demonstration opportunities. In 2021, we added our Wiggers Laboratory, which offers a state-of-the-art facility for scientific research. In 2023, we added a dormitory facility to house graduate researchers and interns. And in 2024, we cut the ribbon on the duPont Conservation Hall, complete with a high quality audio-visual system and seating for upwards of 60 people, providing a modern venue to share research findings and management techniques with a variety of audiences.
Nemours’ team of passionate and dedicated conservation professionals is committed to facilitating effective science-based action service through research, community engagement, education, and empowerment.
